An overseas work assignment
Mrs J took up employment in Germany for a 12 month period and required advice on her residency status.
Mr and Mrs P were unsure of the tax consequences of living overseas (in Portugal). They retained their UK home and rented this out, but had not registered under the Non-Resident Landlord Scheme.
Buying a property overseas
Mr A required tax advice in relation the purchase of a holiday home in France.
Moving to the UK
The P family relocated from India to the UK and needed advice on how they would be taxed in the UK.
Mr C undertook work in Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Egypt and was unsure of the tax reporting requirements.
Mr and Mrs H chose to emigrate permanently to Spain.
Receiving income from overseas
Mr J was in receipt of income from the US and was unsure of the tax treatment.
It is important to understand both the UK and overseas tax implications. While certain general principles do apply, specific advice on your circumstances and detailed knowledge of the tax regime of the overseas country is essential.
