ShareFile and GDPR

As part of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance, applicable from on 25 May 2018, Hawsons uses Citrix ShareFile.

The GDPR requires the encryption of all personal data which is transmitted electronically and ShareFile enables us to do this. This requirement applies to anybody who is handing the personal data of any EU citizen. As a result, GDPR applies to our clients in the same way it applies to Hawsons. By using ShareFile, Hawsons and our clients are able to encrypt data when exchanging it electronically. Hawsons does not charge for this service.

ShareFile encrypted email and portal

Hawsons ShareFile enables encryption of data via emails Hawsons sends out and also by placing data in an internet portal. Both routes require a password protected account to be activated. When data is sent by Hawsons using ShareFile the recipient receives a notification email. Clients may also upload data to Hawsons via the portal and Hawsons will receive a notification.
