Our reputation & experience
We have an established reputation for integrity and professional competence of which we are proud and committed to maintaining. Our team of audit accountants are fully trained on the latest developments in Auditing Standards, in this increasingly specialised area.
We understand the delicate balance between meeting our compliance objectives and providing you with a meaningful, efficient service and, at Hawsons, we believe in building friendly, constructive relationships to help make the audit and assurance process as smooth as possible.
We appreciate the need for audit and assurance services to be carried out in a cost-effective manner. We aim to achieve this by carrying out an initial review of your business and your systems to enable us to focus on key audit risk areas, thereby maximising audit efficiency whilst informing you of any key audit issues we identify.
We also utilise the latest audit software to further enhance the efficiency of the audit assignment. The software is tailored to meet the specific requirements of your business in terms of size, reporting obligations and corporate structure and to provide the appropriate platform for your audit needs.
All UK-incorporated companies are required to prepare a strategic report, as well as a directors’ report, within their annual report unless they have an exemption. The Companies Act 2006 (Strategic Report and Directors’ Report) Regulations 2013 came into force on 1 October 2014 and apply to financial years ending on or after 30 September 2013.
Our trusted audit and assurance approach
Our risk based audit approach involves gaining an in depth understanding of your business through regular contact throughout the year, together with the application of detailed planning and risk assessment procedures. The outcome of our discussions and planning conclusions will direct our audit work and help us to identify the material areas of risk on which to focus the audit. In order to avoid an inefficient approach in areas of minimal risk, we review the control environment to build assurances from the systems in place. This enables us to draw conclusions from our risk assessments and give feedback about our observations.
From our assessments of risk our audit effort is directed to areas of greatest concern.
